Paternoster House to restore summer house thanks to £1,000 Tesco’s Stronger Starts grant
Paternoster House team receive Tesco's Stronger Starts grant cheque.
Residents at Paternoster House, in Cirencester, are delighted to have received £1,000 grant through Tesco’s Stronger Starts campaign, previously known as the blue token initiative. This funding will be used to renovate the care home’s summer house transforming it into a year-round haven for residents.
The gardens at Paternoster House care home are beloved spaces for residents. The grant will be used to update the door and add lighting for evening use, which will make the summer house more versatile and accessible. Residents, including those with mobility issues, can enjoy this charming retreat throughout the year and into the evening.
"We are thrilled to receive this grant," said Sharon Dewsbury, Activities Co-ordinator at Paternoster House. "The summer house has always been a favourite spot for us, especially on warm summer evenings. With the renovations, we will create a beautiful space for everyone to enjoy, no matter the time of year."
Melanie Scrivens, Community Champion at Tesco Cirencester, said: “Congratulations to Paternoster House for being selected as one of our chosen charities. We are proud to support local initiatives that enhance community spaces and improve the lives of residents.”
Nick Helps, Store Manager at Tesco Cirencester, added, “It is wonderful to see the positive impact that the Stronger Starts campaign can have on local charities. We are committed to supporting our community and look forward to seeing the transformation of the summer house.”
The team at Paternoster House is grateful to Tesco Cirencester for this generous donation and they look forward to inviting the Tesco team to the grand opening celebration once the renovations are completed.
