Pirate Day at Rodley House
To celebrate National Punch Day Rodley House hosted a pirate day!
The team all dressed up for the day and the home was decorated too. There was homemade rum pirate punch for residents to drink whilst wearing their pirate hats, some residents even enjoyed a parrot on their shoulder, argghhhh me hearties!
Punch made its way to England in the 17th century before it then spread across Europe, soon becoming an extremely popular drink, which was served at family gatherings and parties. Rum punch was the start of the many different types of cocktails and alcohol beverages to choose from today, you will still often see punch served at parties.
Dawn, Activities Co-Ordinator said, “It was such a fun day, residents and the team loved getting involved with decorating the home, but a pirate day isn’t complete without some rum punch!”
