Residents at The Lakes Care Centre in South Cerney enjoyed an afternoon of poetry, conversation and companionship when members of Cricklade Women’s Institute visited the home.
The guests shared a selection of poems and readings, sparking conversations and fond memories among those attending. The session gave residents the opportunity to reflect, share their own experiences and enjoy listening together.
Following the readings, residents and WI members gathered for afternoon tea, continuing their conversations over tea and treats. It was a lovely opportunity to get to know one another and make new connections.
The connection with Cricklade Women’s Institute helps residents at The Lakes remain part of their wider community, creating opportunities to build friendships and share interests with people beyond the home. Visits like this bring different experiences and perspectives together, while giving residents the chance to contribute their own stories and knowledge. Spending time together over poetry and afternoon tea helps nurture a sense of belonging and provides an enjoyable opportunity for companionship.
