Ponies visited Edwardstow Court Care Centre
Edwardstow Court Care Centre in Stow-on-the-Wold had a wonderful visit from some of Bourton Vales Equestrian Centre’s ponies.
Cotswold Riding Opportunities Project (CROP) borrowed two ponies, Ollie and Paddy, from Bourton Vales Equestrian Centre and brought them into the garden at Edwardstow Court for all the residents to be able to see and stroke them.
Cotswold Riding Opportunities Project is a social enterprise based in the Cotswolds aiming to provide opportunities for the local community to be able to access the benefits horses and ponies can provide and to develop skills, confidence, and knowledge in a safe environment.
Many of the residents at OSJCT Edwardstow Court have kept horses over the years so they were delighted to have the ponies visit in the garden and reminisce about their experiences with horses over the year.
Leanne Launchbury from CROP said, “The reactions from the residents are absolute proof that ponies are magic. We saw a type of engagement that has not been seen for months and they brought back fond memories - it didn’t just make the residents smile, it made us smile too!”
Olivia Wike, Customer Relations Manager at Edwardstow Court said, “The residents at Edwardstow Court Care Centre have been talking about seeing these wonderful ponies a lot since they visited, and some lovely memories were made!”
