A fantastic response from the Melksham Community
Mandy Palfrey, Home Manager at Melksham Gardens, shared her excitement about the success of the event, saying:
What an incredible start to our journey at Melksham Gardens! I was absolutely overwhelmed by the fantastic turnout at our very first recruitment open day. It was wonderful to meet so many enthusiastic people from our local community, all interested in being part of something really special.
Opening a new care home isn't just about creating a beautiful building; it's about bringing together the right people who share our values of kindness, compassion and respect. Our colleagues will be at the very heart of everything we do, helping us create a warm, welcoming home where residents can truly feel they belong.
I'm incredibly excited about the team we're beginning to build and the opportunities ahead. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, showed an interest and helped make our first recruitment event such a memorable success. This really is just the beginning!
More Than Just a New Care Home

Beyond recruitment, OSJCT is looking forward to developing strong relationships with local businesses, community organisations, healthcare professionals and voluntary groups, helping Melksham Gardens become an active and valued part of community life.
The Trust would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended the recruitment open day, the colleagues who helped organise and deliver the event, and Melksham Town Hall for hosting such a successful occasion.
With such an encouraging start, the future is looking bright for Melksham Gardens as it takes another exciting step towards welcoming its first residents and becoming part of the Melksham community.
