Reliving the 1940s at Grace Care Centre’s cocktail evening!
Grace Care Centre travelled back to the 1940s for an evening filled with timeless music, retro outfits, and delicious cocktails & mocktails.
Grace Care Centre hosted a 1940s themed cocktail evening for residents, friends, families, and staff to enjoy. Along with their finest retro outfits and fantastic music, laughter and joy filled the air while the mixologist from a local bar in Thornbury, mixed ingredients, adding a captivating touch with cocktail shaking performances!

The event was an opportunity to reminisce on the residents’ youthful adventures whilst sipping on delicious cocktails. Our Deputy Manager’s daughter, Evie, also curated delightful mocktails too, taking the lead from the mixologist!
Living in care doesn’t mean losing touch with the past or the pleasure of engaging activities. For many of our residents, the 1940s was a defining era with the birth of iconic fashion and music!
Events like this create strong feelings of community and unity in the home, whilst also promoting mental and emotional wellbeing. One of the residents at Grace Care Centre said, “the evening has been smashing, just smashing, well done to all the team”.
Grace Care Centre are committed to continuously planning exciting activities that keep residents excited and fulfilled every day. We want to create environments that nurture happiness and the cocktail evening is just one example of the exciting activities we offer at Grace Care Centre.
