Resident Ivor supporting Launton Ladies FC

Resident Ivor’s lifelong passion for sport continues at Langford View alongside community support for the Launton Ladies FC tournament on 14 June.

Resident Ivor has always enjoyed sport. Before moving to Langford View care home in Bicester, he was a keen runner and completed a number of marathons, achievements that reflect his determination and love of staying active. These experiences remain an important part of his life story.

Today, sport continues to bring enjoyment and connection. Ivor enjoys watching football, following matches, and chatting with others about teams and results. These familiar routines offer pleasure and opportunities for shared conversation.

At Langford View, residents are supported to continue engaging with the interests and activities that matter to them. Ivor’s ongoing enjoyment of sport shows how lifelong passions can continue to support wellbeing and a strong sense of identity.

Langford View has been proud to sponsor Launton Ladies FC for the past 18 months and looks forward to being part of their football tournament again on 14 June. The event will bring together players, families, and members of the local community.

On the day, there will be a raffle and cake sale, with all money raised going towards the Langford View resident amenity fund, helping to support activities and shared experiences within the home.

Ivor’s story reflects how interests developed over a lifetime can continue to bring meaning in everyday life. Whether through memories of marathon running or the enjoyment of watching a match, sport remains a valued part of his routine.

At Langford View, the focus remains on creating meaningful moments and supporting residents to live well, staying connected to both their personal interests and the wider community.
