Residents at The Lakes Care Centre recently enjoyed a fascinating visit from authors Elisabeth White, who writes under the pen name Lee Pennel, and Malcolm Brooks.

During the session, Elisabeth and Malcolm shared their experiences of writing and publishing books, giving residents a unique insight into the journey of becoming an author. Residents were keen to learn more about the creative process and enjoyed asking questions about everything from finding inspiration to getting a book published.

The visit sparked plenty of interesting conversation, with residents thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to hear first-hand stories from two published authors. Sessions such as these provide valuable opportunities for learning, discussion and social connection, while encouraging residents to explore new interests and hobbies.

Elisabeth and Malcolm also kindly brought along copies of their books for residents to browse and purchase, which proved very popular and generated lots of enthusiasm among everyone who attended.

The Lakes Care Centre is committed to providing residents with a varied programme of engaging activities and events that inspire curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning.

A huge thank you to Elisabeth White (Lee Pennel) and Malcolm Brooks for taking the time to visit us and share their passion for writing. Residents thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and learning more about the world of books, and we are grateful for such a wonderful and inspiring visit.
