The High Tea offered an intimate setting for residents and families, with tables arranged to encourage conversation and a selection of treats to enjoy together. The event provided a chance for couples and families to spend meaningful time together while celebrating the occasion.
Throughout the morning, residents shared memories of past Valentine’s Days — from handwritten love letters to carefully planned dates — offering insight into lives rich with experiences and personal stories.
Megan Humphries, Activities Co-ordinator at The Meadows, said:
“It was a special morning, being part of celebrating Valentine’s Day with our residents and their loved ones. Hearing stories about how Valentine’s Day was spent over the years really highlighted the importance of these celebrations. One gentleman even shared that he dressed up in a suit one year to woo his wife.”
Events like this demonstrate the value of creating opportunities for residents to connect, reminisce, and enjoy shared experiences. The Valentine’s High Tea reflects OSJCT’s ongoing commitment to placing residents’ needs and wishes at the heart of everything we do, ensuring every resident feels valued, supported, and able to enjoy life’s moments.
