Residents Join The Interview Process for New Starters
This new initiative gives residents the opportunity to meet potential new starters and have their say on candidates before they start working in the home.
Grace Care Centre are proud to be part of The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) and put their residents at the heart of everything they do. From the types of activities tailored to individuals that are included in the activity schedule, to the range of freshly cooked meals and the person-centred care they receive.
A key value they hold is the ability to ensure residents feel empowered and they are always looking for ways to make even further improvements, they have recently started including residents as part of the interview process when new members of the team are recruited.
Although they are in the early days of this initiative, they have already noticed significant benefits. Tony is one of the residents who has taken part and he has enjoyed having the opportunity to virtually meet candidates before they start working to support him and his fellow residents within the home
It also gives new starters the opportunity to meet residents before they start working at the home which helps to make that initial first meeting easier for both.
In preparation, Tony works with the team to prepare a set of questions to ask and the candidates are made aware to ensure they are comfortable and prepared.
