Residents keep physically active and mentally alert
April is Stress Awareness Month so here are some of the activities Goodson Lodge residents have been taking part in to retain a positive mental attitude
Stress Awareness Month has been held every April since 1992 to increase public awareness about the causes and cures for our modern stress epidemic.
Stress is a significant factor in mental health problems including anxiety and depression. It is also linked to physical health problems such as insomnia and issues with the digestive system.
There are actions we can all take to reduce our stress levels, such as adopting a positive mindset, eating healthily, keeping active and staying hydrated.
There is a marvellous kitchen team at Goodson Lodge who produce healthy, nutritionally balanced and delicious meals for the residents and along with the carers, ensure that everyone is well hydrated too.
Here are some of the other activities that the team have been doing with our residents during April to keep our minds alert and our bodies active:
Making Easter decorations, gardening, discussing poetry in a virtual session with Trowbridge library, painting shields for St George's Day, taking part in a quiz for William Shakespeare Day and celebrating Italian Day by listening to Italian music and learning a few words of the language.
