Residents at The Lakes Care Centre enjoyed a fun and interactive session as part of Falls Prevention Awareness Week, taking part in a Tripology game focused on falls awareness and prevention.

The activity was designed to provide residents with important information about falls, including how they can happen, the potential risks and the simple steps that can help reduce the likelihood of falling.

Presented in a fun and engaging format, the Tripology game encouraged residents to get involved, ask questions and share their own experiences. The relaxed approach created plenty of opportunities for discussion, with residents enjoying the chance to learn from one another while picking up useful tips.

Rather than feeling like a formal lesson, the activity provided an enjoyable way to explore an important topic. Residents discussed different everyday situations and learned practical ways they can help stay safe, maintain their confidence and support their independence.

Falls prevention is particularly important at The Lakes Care Centre, where supporting residents to live safely while maintaining their independence is at the heart of the care we provide. A fall can have a significant impact on a person’s confidence, mobility and quality of life, so helping residents understand potential risks and the practical steps they can take to reduce them is an important part of promoting their overall wellbeing. By encouraging residents to stay active, informed and confident, we can help them continue enjoying the activities and daily experiences that are important to them.

It was wonderful to see our residents getting involved and enjoying the session. Falls prevention is such an important topic, but presenting the information through a fun and interactive game made it much more enjoyable and accessible. Our residents were able to share their experiences, ask questions and pick up some really useful tips to help them stay safe, active and independent.

There were plenty of smiles and enthusiastic participation throughout the session, with residents finding the information both interesting and informative.

The session was a great reminder that falls prevention doesn't have to be a formal lesson. With the right approach, important health and wellbeing messages can be shared in a way that is enjoyable, engaging and meaningful for residents.
