You’re never too old to enjoy a bit of magic. Residents at Henry Cornish Care Centre were transported down the rabbit hole for a magical themed tea party filled with colour, laughter, nostalgia and plenty of fun.

The event created a wonderful atmosphere from the moment residents arrived, with tables decorated with colourful teacups, playing cards, clocks, flowers and themed centrepieces. Themed music and decorations helped create a fun and nostalgic setting, while staff embraced the spirit of the occasion by dressing up as much-loved characters including Alice, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts.

Residents enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea featuring delicious sandwiches, scones, cakes and a selection of teas. Adding to the magic were mini potion bottles, giving residents the opportunity to see if they might shrink!
The tea party also provided an opportunity for residents to reminisce about the story, share memories of favourite books and reflect on childhood experiences. The afternoon was filled with plenty of laughter, conversation and meaningful social interaction.

Laura Beadle, Home Manager at Henry Cornish Care Centre, said:
“It was wonderful to see our residents enjoying themselves, laughing and creating special memories together. The team put so much thought and creativity into bringing the magic of Wonderland to life, and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved.”

Residents also shared their enjoyment of the event. Ann, a resident at Henry Cornish Care Centre, said:
“It is so lovely to hear and see people laughing and enjoying themselves, you all look fabulous!”

The event received very positive feedback from residents, who particularly enjoyed the decorations, food and company. The themed tea party supported residents’ wellbeing by encouraging social engagement, creativity and meaningful activity, while creating a joyful opportunity for everyone to come together and enjoy a little bit of magic.
