Residents from OSJCT Ridgeway House enjoyed a welcome change of scenery with a special trip to Greatwood Charity, where they had the opportunity to meet some of the charity’s much-loved retired racehorses.
The visit gave residents the chance to spend time in the countryside, meet the horses and learn more about Greatwood’s important work caring for former racehorses and giving them a fulfilling life beyond racing.
While the horses were undoubtedly the stars of the day, Greatwood’s chickens also proved very popular, creating plenty of smiles and conversation among the group.
Tyler Dale, Home Manager at Ridgeway House, said:

A huge thank you to the Greatwood team for making us feel so welcome.
Getting out and about and remaining connected with the wider community is an important part of life at Ridgeway House. Trips like this provide residents with new experiences, a change of surroundings and opportunities to continue enjoying a sense of interest, variety and adventure.
