Seymour House thanks Sainsbury’s Chippenham for its support
Seymour House in Chippenham hosted a coffee morning to thank the team at their local Sainsbury’s for their “amazing” support over the past year.
The home, operated by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT), was chosen as Sainsbury’s Chippenham’s charity of the year, and over the last twelve months the two organisations have built up a very special relationship.
Colleagues from the store have helped out with work in the garden, taken part in activities with residents and assisted at various events in the home.
At the coffee morning the store presented the home with a cheque for £850 raised to date through donations from customers. In return the home gave flowers and wine to the Sainsbury’s volunteers as thanks for their help.
Dawn Wallburton, Home Manager, said the support from the store had been “amazing” and had made such a difference to the home over the last twelve months.
She added: “The store has said they would like to continue to support us going forward and we know that several volunteers are keen to continue helping out, which is just fantastic. We are so grateful for all the support we have received, and for the relationships we have formed. Residents absolutely love the Sainsbury’s team – they are all so friendly and will do anything to help.”
Richard Perry, Manager at Sainsbury’s Chippenham, said: “I have only arrived at the store in the last few weeks, but I have been blown away by the total dedication, commitment and fantastic support my colleagues have given to Seymour House every week, many of them even giving up their own time to support willingly.
“I have seen for myself the fantastic partnership that has evolved over the year and the friendships that have been formed and I know that this relationship will grow further and continue.”
