Silver Sunday at Edwardstow Court
Silver Sunday has been running for several years, it started with a tea dance and within a few short years it has turned into a national campaign to tackle the blight of loneliness that affects so many older people.
Silver Sunday is always the first Sunday in October, it’s a time for the nation to come together to remember older people and to celebrate their contribution to society.
Edwardstow Court planned a whole day of activities which included biscuit making for the McVities biscuit decorating competition. The residents also enjoyed some flower arranging which were then displayed around the households ready for their special lunch. The households were decorated with silver decorations and the tables were dressed with silver napkins and flowers.
