Langford View in Bicester, was delighted to welcome a team of engineers from Sky TV who spent the day at the home helping to prepare for Christmas. Their visit brought laughter and a festive atmosphere as they set to work decorating Christmas trees and brightening all four resident lounges.
The team did a fantastic job under the expert guidance and keen eyes of residents, dressing the trees beautifully and helping to set the scene for the season ahead.
The day was made even more enjoyable by a friendly competition, with the engineers splitting into two groups and challenging each other to create the best-dressed tree. Residents took on the important role of judges and, after careful consideration, selected the winning tree. The result was very close, which added to the fun.
The team has also kindly offered to return in January to help take the decorations down, a task that is often less eagerly anticipated.
Catherine Semmence, Head of Volunteering at OSJCT, said:
“It was brilliant to have Sean and his team visit Langford View. They were great fun and brought many laughs to the home. We really value support from corporate groups such as Sky. Our residents enjoy meeting new people, and it offers real help to our teams during the busy festive period.”
Sean Millette, Team Leader at Sky TV, who led the group, said:
“It was great to use one of our volunteer days and support a care home in the local area. It was rewarding for us to give back and help add some festive spirit to the home. We will be returning in January to support removing the items, help with storage, and hopefully bring some donations for next year’s festivities.”
