Residents at Spencer Court Care Home in Woodstock were excited to mark Shrove Tuesday this year by taking part in a pancake flip clip challenge, where their pancake flip attempts were filmed and shared with the home’s Facebook followers.
Spencer Court’s Chef Lorraine pre-cooked pancakes and together with Home Manager, Dorte, approached residents in their social bubbles who wanted to try out their pancake flipping skills. A new pancake was flipped by each resident, and the frying pan was sanitised after each attempt.
Some pancake flips were more successful than others: Doreen was delighted at achieving a fantastic full flip, while George found the funny side to his attempt which was more of a fail than a flip.
Fresh pancakes were cooked by the kitchen and served for tea with toppings of lemon and sugar, berries and cream, golden syrup, and chocolate sauce.
Residents agreed it was a fun and delicious way to mark Shrove Tuesday, and it brought a smile to followers on Facebook too.
