Spooktacular Halloween event at Lake House
As well as decorating the home with silhouettes and pumpkins, residents at Lake House Care Home and Day Centre in Adderbury have set up trick or treat stations throughout the home so local children can get involved this Halloween.
Residents who want to be involved will place a carved pumpkin outside their room and visiting children can approach with a knock at the door in anticipation of some delicious treats. This will be followed by a Halloween tea party for everyone in which Lake House residents and children can try their hand at apple bobbing, guess the weight of the pumpkin and pin the nose on the witch.
The kitchen team has ensured the day’s menu ties in with the spooky theme and will be serving pumpkin soup, spooky autumn punch and scary biscuits.
As part of its ongoing aim to provide its residents with the best possible care, the home recognises the importance of providing opportunities for residents to interact with younger generations and look forward to filling the home with children’s laughter at Halloween, with lots of chances for beneficial intergenerational interaction.
