Spotlight on… our Handypersons!
Mark and Darren get their moment in the spotlight.
Mark and Darren are our dynamic duo of Handypersons at Grace Care Centre.
This week, we are putting the spotlight on them both as part of our campaign to highlight every single member of our fantastic team.
Mark and Darren are larger than life characters and they are extremely popular amongst staff, residents and visitors.
Over the past few months, just like the rest of team, their working and personal lives have been hugely impacted by Covid-19.
As Mark explains: “Wearing the additional PPE has been a challenge in my role – especially on particularly warm days. My favourite part about the role is the interaction I get to have with our amazing residents. That has been made more difficult with social distancing at these times but the conversations I have had are still the highlight of my day.”
Things have been very different for Darren who has been forced to isolate at home. “Myself and my wife have been shielding at home. It has been hard not being able to go out. I miss seeing everyone at Grace Care Centre. I have lots of hobbies but there seem to be too many hours in the day to fill!”
Despite their differing experiences, both Mark and Darren are united in their love for Grace Care Centre.
“I have worked at Grace Care Centre for over two years. It is a fantastic care home with very high standards” said Mark.
Mark agreed: “Grace Care Centre is a lovely place to work with a wonderful environment running throughout. I love watching our residents smile each day.”
Peter Moore, General Manager at Grace Care Centre, said: “Mark and Darren deliver a vital service in the home, and always with a smile. They always go out of their way to support our staff and residents and we are very lucky to have them at Grace Care Centre.”
