St Wilfrid’s Cycle Challenge Is Back
The postponed 24 hour cycle is back, but this time it’s going to take a slightly different format.
The plan is still to have a 24 hour window – Saturday 5th June – though we’d love to have as many people as possible involved. When we originally planned the sponsored event, we were going to use static bikes and chair bikes at the home, and we’ll still do that, though we’re opening it up a bit. Several people mentioned that they’d love to support with a cycle stint but for various reasons wouldn’t be able to join us in the home. So we thought why not log your miles wherever you can?
On Saturday 5th June, get on your bike (or static bike) and do however many miles you feel comfortable with. Take a photo or even a video and send them to us at marketing@osjct.co.uk and we’ll create a montage to share with everyone on social media. We hope that this way, lots more people – of all ages – will be able to join us.
Let us know how far you cycle and we’ll add the total together. The plan is to raise funds to help with transport costs for residents when restrictions are further relaxed and our residents can get back to enjoying trips out. We can’t wait to get back out into the community. Once we know the total number of miles, we’ll do a themed day at the home for the residents from somewhere that far away. 63 miles would get us to London, 468 miles would get us to Edinburgh, for example. Fingers crossed for somewhere exotic!
