Success for Bourne House at the Trust Recognition Awards for Wiltshire
Home Manager, Amy Thorne, and the team from Harnham Household both won coveted trophies.
Congratulations to Amy and her team who took home two awards from the recent Trust Recognition Awards, held at Bowood House.
Amy collected the Trust Efficiency & Development Award on behalf of the whole team working with residents on the Harnham household, the nursing household that opened last November. The award demonstrates the immediate impact the team has had on the home and the residents they care for. The award was given in recognition of the dedication and teamwork demonstrated, for example with residents like Billy. The team is building something very special together that is not just about medication, but about mutual trust, giving independence back to residents and supporting them to improve their quality of life.

Amy was also able to accept an award for herself: The Chairman’s Commendation for Meritorious Service. Amy was a worthy winner having progressed through the Trust to the role of Home Manager. She understands the challenges that all her teams and senior colleagues face. It comes in recognition of her devoted and caring nature, and her calming awareness when faced with a crisis. The nomination noted Amy’s way of ensuring confidence and trust with relatives and her caring approach to residents. Much has changed at Avonbourne in the last eighteen months since Amy joined the team there, and they approach every challenge with a we-can-do-it attitude, thanks to her leadership.

Congratulations to all winners on the day, and of course to Amy and the Harnham team!
