This month’s session was led by Mirtha, a carer and housekeeper at Goodson Lodge, and her daughter, who shared stories and insights about Argentina, introducing residents to the country’s rich culture, traditions and way of life.

Food was, of course, an important part of the experience. Residents had the opportunity to discover some traditional Argentinian favourites, including beautifully prepared empanadas and alfajores, delicious filled biscuits that are a much-loved sweet treat in Argentina.

The session sparked plenty of conversation, giving residents the chance to ask questions, learn something new and experience another culture without having to leave Goodson Lodge.

Our Culture Club is a wonderful opportunity for residents and colleagues to come together, learn from one another and celebrate the different cultures and experiences within our home. We have such a diverse team, and it is lovely when colleagues can share something personal about their heritage with our residents.

Activities like this are about so much more than having an enjoyable afternoon. They encourage conversation, curiosity and learning, while helping to build meaningful connections between residents and colleagues.
