Residents, families and local community members came together at Meadowcroft in Thame on Saturday 28 February for a special community morning, hosted in partnership with the Thame Fire Station.
Meadowcroft in Thame was delighted to welcome members of the Thame Fire Station on Saturday 28 February for a well-attended community morning that brought residents, families and members of the wider local community together.
The firefighters arrived with their fire engine, creating a strong visual draw that encouraged residents, relatives and visitors from the local area to attend. The crew spent time with residents over tea and breakfast, enjoying meaningful conversations and sharing local stories, which helped create a relaxed, friendly and engaging atmosphere throughout the morning.
The fire engine proved particularly popular with visitors of all ages, supporting intergenerational interaction and strengthening connections between Meadowcroft and the local community. The visit reinforced Meadowcroft’s position as an open and welcoming home that values strong community links.
The event also provided valuable local visibility and helped strengthen relationships with an important emergency service partner, highlighting the benefits of collaboration between care homes and local services.
Carolyn, Activities Coordinator at Meadowcroft, said:
“Welcoming Thame Fire Brigade to spend time with our residents was truly heart-warming. Seeing our residents connect with their local community, share the experience with their families, and enjoy such lovely conversations made the visit incredibly special for everyone involved.”
Meadowcroft continues to welcome opportunities to work with local organisations, creating enriching experiences that support wellbeing and connection for everyone in the home. We're looking forward to welcoming them again soon!
