Valentine’s celebrations at Grevill House
‘Love is all around us’ at Grevill House in Charlton King as they celebrated valentine’s day with a whole host of activities.
Some of the residents enjoyed helping to make hearts for Valentine’s day while others enjoyed watching and making design suggestions! The female residents all have a good laugh about how to find the perfect man. The hearts were displayed on a little tree and one of the residents wrote a lovely message - “Love is all around us here at Grevill House both from staff and other residents“.
The tables were decorated with roses and then covered in chocolate hearts in red wrappers. The team in the kitchen made some lovely romantic cakes decorated in strawberries and some little cupcakes with oink icing and red jelly.
In the afternoon residents were delighted to welcome Paras, one of the volunteers who is an amazing musician. Para gave a wonderful classical guitar recital which the residents found very romantic.
One of the residents, Peter, is very romantic and made a gorgeous card for his wife with the support of the team. Peter was delighted to give his card to his wife along with a red rose. There were tears of joy all round, it was a very heart-warming moment.
Sue Tibbles, Activities Co-Ordinator said “we’ve all had such a lovely day and love really has been all around us”.
