Vintage Fayre at The Lakes Care Centre
The Lakes celebrated all things vintage on Saturday 21st September at their Vintage Fayre
The Lakes Care Centre were delighted to welcome 12 beautiful classic cars which were on display outside the home for residents and visitors to view. The garden was filled with a variety of stalls selling homemade cards, knitted items, candles, Neals Yard and of course, The Lakes raffle with the top prize of a Magnum of Champagne.
The vintage fayre was lifted by the music of Kieran Pocock, with Kieran playing well known tunes on the keyboard, and there was even some singing along to some of the tunes.
The star of the show for the children was the miniature steam train which they could ride; some of the children were even lucky enough to drive the train which was a very special experience.
There were plenty of garden games to play with, including tin can alley, skittles and ‘splat the rat’, kindly loaned to The Lakes from Age UK. After all that excitement everyone was able to relax in the sunshine and enjoy tea and delicious homemade cake.
Mandi Short, Home Manager says “It was fantastic to welcome so many visitors to the home and that the sun shone all day. Thank you to everyone who supported us and made the day such a success”.
