What Christmas means to the Residents and Staff at Foxby Court
The festive season has come and gone, the residents and staff at Foxby Court find themselves looking back on what Christmas meant to them this year.
"Colourful decorations and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree," Doris recalled fondly. For her, the tree had brought life and cheer to the room, rekindling childhood memories of magical Christmases past.
Kai and Nancy smiled as they remembered the children. "It was all for the kids and seeing their happy faces," Kai said. Nancy added, "There was nothing like the sound of kids giggling as they opened their gifts. It reminded us of the simple joys of the season."
For Mo, Brenda, and Nancy, family was at the heart of the holiday. "It’s about getting everyone together," Mo said warmly. Brenda reflected on the joy of shared meals and conversations, while Nancy noted, "Even when our families couldn’t all be here, the people at Foxby Court felt like family too."
Audrey’s light-hearted take brought smiles all around. "It means getting a plate piled high with food," she said with a laugh, recalling the feast that had everyone asking for seconds. "Turkey, stuffing, and don’t forget the gravy!"
Mary, offered her timeless wisdom: "Christmas is all about how you live it." She explained, "For some, it’s the decorations or food, for others, it’s the laughter or children’s joy. What matters is how it made us feel and what we shared with one another."
Looking back, the residents and staff agreed that this Christmas had been truly special. Even as the season fades, the spirit of love, joy, and togetherness continues to light up Foxby Court.
