Windsor Street Care Centre, Cheltenham, has won Trust in Bloom 2023 Best Overall Garden, South Division. The home was also the Best Miniature Garden runner-up.
Windsor Street residents, team members and volunteers came together to plan and nurture their garden ready for the competition judging. Activities Co-ordinators Bea and Charo, along with Handy Person Earl, played a prominent role in creating this year’s winning gardens. Residents also played a key role, helping with planting and crafting to make the gardens beautiful.

Garden spaces created for this year’s competition took on the Coronation theme with coloured planting and accessories, including a miniature garden tribute to HM King Charles III. Other highlights in the winning garden were a children’s play area and Ukraine memorial. Gardens at the care home are practical and attractive, frequently enjoyed by residents and their family members. During the summer, the home ran outdoor yoga classes in the garden.
Marzanna Urbaniak, Home Manager, said: "As a care home manager, I couldn't be prouder of my dedicated team and our incredible residents for their hard work and passion, which led us to victory in the garden competition. Together, we've cultivated not only a beautiful garden but also a flourishing sense of community and togetherness."
Dan Hayes, Chief Executive and Trust in Bloom Judge, said: “I was impressed by how the team made the space attractive, and created lots of different places in the gardens which residents and their families are drawn to. The celebration of the Coronation was also very strong.”
