Meet the team

The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.

Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

Whether it’s wet or dry outside, we at OSJCT feel that activities are essential in providing the best caring environment to live in.

Hobbies don’t simply stop when living with us at Madley Park. We have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who works closely with our residents to create a programme of fulfilling activities and events, tailored around each resident’s requests, hobbies and interests. The programme of events and activities provide a source of fun and laughter, to help each resident live their life to the full and make new friendships.

We are also fortunate to have the support of many volunteers of all ages from the local community, strengthening our links to this thriving market town. Here is a sample of activities on offer:

With so many well-being activities for body and mind on offer, we also recognise that everyone needs some personal space for relaxation and mindfulness for personal reflection. The cosy lounges offer an opportunity for some quiet time or to host family and friends.

And that’s not all:

We’ve had silent discos, hoe downs, Chinese banquets, Oscar parties and so much more.

Many of the activities feature Reminiscence Therapy to aid those living with Dementia to remember events, people and places using sight, touch, taste, smell and sound.

Located in the bustling town of Wallingford, there's never a dull moment. We run regular activities for all to join in:

  • Coffee mornings
  • Care Home Open Day
  • Summer and Autumn Fetes
  • Christmas parties

Meet the team

Home Manager

Niki started working for the Trust in 2005. She began as a Senior Care Leader and in 2006, Niki was offered the position of NVQ Assessor within the Leaning and development team. As the role evolved, Niki became a Learning and Development Advisor, delivering training to our teams in Gloucestershire, and eventually went on to lead this team.

In 2017, Niki went back to an operational role as Deputy Manager at The Lakes Care Centre.  Following a break, Niki returned to the Trust as a Scheme Manager for Extra Care Housing on a short-term contract. She was delighted to accept a permanent position as the Registered Manager at Madley Park in October 2021.

In her spare time, Niki likes to spend time with her family in the lovely village she lives in. She can often be found in her kitchen cooking enough to feed the street!

Activity Coordinator

Carly Willimont is the Activities Coordinator at Madley Park House. She joined OSJCT in 2005 and has 13 years of experience in the care industry. From a young age, Carly had always enjoyed the company of older people and bonded well with them. As a teenager, she volunteered at a local care home where she organised events. In 2005, Carly joined Madley Park House as its Activities Coordinator.

Carly has an NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care and has a level 2 in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care.

The most rewarding part of Carly’s role is being able to be part of the residents’ day, and seeing residents try and enjoy new things.

Carly’s fondest memory is when the penguins, Pringle and Charlie, came to visit Madley Park House; this friendly visit generated national media coverage on Sky News. Carly also feels very lucky to have been able to take the residents ice skating, as well as enjoying tea with the local MPs.

For fun, Carly enjoys spending time with her two dogs and her cat, and loves traveling!
