Cheeky elves amuse residents at Lake House
The team at Lake House Care Home in Adderbury celebrated national Elf Day this December by dressing up and getting up to harmless mischief around the home, much to the surprise and amusement of residents.
Employees donned their jolly green and red outfits, some complete with hats, bells, and pointy ears, as a surprise for residents and to celebrate the start of the festive season. Residents were much amused by the team’s antics, which included a spot of gardening and decorating the Christmas tree.
Local Saltway Day Nursery heard about Lake House’s plan to celebrate Elf Day and decided to add to the merriment and festivities on the day by sending the home dozens of elf-themed paintings created by the children.
Residents were delighted with both the team’s surprise fancy dress and with the children’s artwork which they have decided to display proudly in the home’s windows for all to see.
Home Manager Alexandra Grindle said: “Christmas is a very big occasion for us all at Lake House, and we wanted to kick it off in style. We had so much fun being elves for the day and the residents found it hilarious.
“We have planned some great socially-distanced festivities this Christmas which will be fun as well as safe.”
