Patricia's Story: Finding Friendship, Support and Peace of Mind at Boultham Park House

Patricia Key, aged 95, became a resident at Boultham Park House in February 2025.

Born in Market Rasen and a lifelong Lincolnshire resident, Pat has spent most of her life in Lincoln. She worked in the office at Wests, where she met her husband at a work social event. The couple married when Pat was just 20 years old and went on to build a happy family together, raising three children, two sons and a daughter.

Following the loss of her husband, Pat found living alone increasingly difficult. Frequent falls, deteriorating eyesight and feelings of loneliness and isolation began to impact her confidence and quality of life. It became clear that she needed more support than could be provided at home.

Since moving to Boultham Park House, Pat says her life has changed for the better.

"I feel better, and I look better," she says. "My quality of life is so much better now, and I don't have anything to worry about."

One of the things Pat values most is the social side of life at the home. She continues to enjoy regular visits from family and friends, while also making many new friendships within the Boultham Park House community. The companionship and daily opportunities to socialise have helped her feel connected, supported and involved.

For Pat, the greatest benefit of living at Boultham Park House is the peace of mind it brings.

"The best part is not having to worry about anything," she explains. "I can live hassle-free in a safe, caring and supportive environment, and I never want for anything."

Today, Pat enjoys the reassurance of knowing that support is always available when she needs it, allowing her to focus on what matters most: spending time with loved ones, enjoying friendships and making the most of every day.
