Residents can enjoy the privacy of their own room or socialise with family and friends in one of our open plan living areas or smaller lounges. The attentive care team focus on the individual needs of the residents, with a tailored care plan for each person. Meet the team

The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.

Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily, and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake to enjoy.

Each of the households has their own small kitchen dining room where residents can take their meals if they wish. Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

Whether it’s wet or dry outside, we at OSJCT feel that activities are essential in providing the best caring environment to live in.

Hobbies don’t simply stop when living with us at Ashwood. We have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who works closely with our residents to create a programme of fulfilling activities and events, tailored around each resident’s requests, hobbies and interests. The programme of events and activities provide a source of fun and laughter, to help each resident live their life to the full and make new friendships.

We are also fortunate to have the support of many volunteers of all ages from the local community, strengthening our links to this thriving market town. Here is a sample of activities on offer:

  • Trips to garden centres, cafés, pubs, sporting events, National Trust parks, wildlife parks, aquariums and museums.
  • Visit from Pets as Therapy Dogs
  • Exercise and wellness activities, for example Seated Yoga, Zumba
  • Board game competitions and quizzes
  • Music therapy sessions
  • Gardening
  • Arts and crafts

With so many well-being activities for body and mind on offer, we also recognise that everyone needs some personal space for relaxation and mindfulness for personal reflection. The cosy lounges offer an opportunity for some quiet time or to host family and friends.

And that’s not all:

We’ve had silent discos, hoe downs, Chinese banquets, Oscar parties and so much more.

Many of the activities feature Reminiscence Therapy to aid those living with Dementia to remember events, people and places using sight, touch, taste, smell and sound.

As we are on the outskirts of a market town - within a vibrant community, there's never a dull moment. We run regular activities for all to join in:

  • Coffee mornings
  • Care Home Open Day
  • Summer and Autumn fetes
  • Christmas parties

Meet the team

Home Manager

Pauline grew up in Bradford-on-Avon, she left home to do her Nurse training and has spent over 40 years as a nurse, gaining a life time of experience which has built the foundations of her growing and changing profession. She is a strong believer in training and motivating staff, to bring out the best in them and what they do, giving them the confidence to strive for more.
Pauline joined OSJCT Ashwood in 2015, as the Deputy Manager, and has enjoyed helping to build and support the home to where it is today. In 2018 she took on the role of Home Manager “For me Ashwood is like a large family. There is great warmth amongst the residents, staff and families”.

Bursar

Cheryl has worked at Ashwood Care Centre since 2014, initially as Administrator before she was promoted to Bursar in 2017.

Cheryl says: ‘I love working at Ashwood as I love spending time with the residents and  being able to support their relatives/loved ones through their care journey. Ashwood is my work family and the team I work with and the residents is why I have been with OJSCT since 2014’.

Head of Dementia Care

Mel has been with OSJCT since 2004, initially working at Fives Court until she left in 2009 to have her children.

Two children later, Mel returned to the Trust in 2014 as a carer and has been with OSJCT ever since, working her way up the ranks to her current position a Head of Dementia Care.

Mel says that she loves working with people living with dementia as ‘they brighten up my life and I find my role really rewarding.  I enjoy working at Ashwood Care Centre as the team are like an extended family to me’.

Administration Assistant

Prior to joining OSJCT Bev worked as an Estate Agent in Colchester.  Bev decide to move to Warminster to be nearer to her mother and 6 siblings.

Bev started working at Ashwood in August 2018 as Administration Assistant.  Bev chose to work at Ashwood Care Centre as she had previously worked as a Housing Manager in Sheltered Housing  and wanted to return to the sector.

‘I love the people I work with, both the residents and colleagues. What I really enjoy about working at Ashwood is the diversity it offers me; one day I am on reception, the next day I can be providing resident care or be working in the kitchen or supporting residents with activities.  I love my job’.
