01522 405 782A warm welcome to Chesham Leys
Nestled close to the heart of Chesham, Chesham Leys is a welcoming, purpose-built care home offering expert nursing, dementia and respite care for up to 62 residents. With beautiful surroundings, compassionate staff, and the reassurance of care that adapts as needs change, this is a place where you or your loved one can truly feel at home.
Our experienced and compassionate team is here around the clock, offering tailored support based on each resident’s individual needs. Whether someone is joining us for a short stay or long-term nursing or dementia care, our approach is always personal and built on kindness, respect and dignity.
We work closely with local GPs, district nurses, and a wide range of visiting professionals - from physiotherapists to dieticians - ensuring continuity of care at every stage of life.
From morning coffee in a sunny lounge to dancing in the garden on event days, Chesham Leys is a vibrant home where every day brings something new. Our residents enjoy a varied calendar of activities - from arts and crafts to live performances and trips out - always shaped around their interests.
We’re proud of our strong community spirit, regularly welcoming local groups and volunteers who bring joy and connection into our home.
Every bedroom at Chesham Leys is light, spacious, and comes with an en-suite, phone and TV point, and 24-hour call system. Residents are encouraged to make their space their own with personal items and furniture.
Each of our three floors has its own unique character, with cosy lounges, quiet corners for reflection or private family time, and sociable dining rooms where home-cooked meals are enjoyed together daily.
Our fully enclosed garden is a safe and peaceful retreat — perfect for a morning walk, a chat in the sun, or tending to the raised flower beds. Indoors, residents can enjoy a visit to the in-house hair salon or relax with a newspaper in one of the many communal areas.
We’re also pet-friendly, understanding just how important the companionship of a furry friend can be.
Chesham Leys is proud to be part of The Orders of St John Care Trust, a leading not-for-profit care provider with over 100 years of heritage. This means we reinvest every penny back into what matters most - our homes, our staff, and most importantly, the people we support.
There are no shareholders to answer to - just a deep commitment to delivering outstanding care, every day.
Staff and management are very friendly and approachable. Overall standard of care is very good. I would have no reservations recommending Chesham Leys Care Home. Mum has been a resident now for two and a half years and we have made many friends among the staff and other residents.

Whether it’s wet or dry outside, we at OSJCT feel that activities are essential in providing the best caring environment to live in.
Hobbies don’t simply stop when living with us at Chesham Leys. We have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who works closely with our residents to create a programme of fulfilling activities and events, tailored around each resident’s requests, hobbies and interests. The programme of events and activities provide a source of fun and laughter, to help each resident live their life to the full and make new friendships.
We are also fortunate to have the support of many volunteers of all ages from the local community, strengthening our links to this thriving market town. Here is a sample of activities on offer:
With so many well-being activities for body and mind on offer, we also recognise that everyone needs some personal space for relaxation and mindfulness for personal reflection. The cosy lounges offer an opportunity for some quiet time or to host family and friends.
And that’s not all:
We’ve had silent discos, hoe downs, Chinese banquets, Oscar parties and so much more.
Many of the activities feature Reminiscence Therapy to aid those living with Dementia to remember events, people and places using sight, touch, taste, smell and sound.
The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.
Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake for residents, friends and families to enjoy.
Each of the households has their own small kitchen dining room where residents can take their meals if they wish. Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.
