Amanda, who prefers to be known as Mandy, has more than 33 years of experience in health and social care and has spent the last 5 years as Home Manager at our sister home, Goodson Lodge. Having worked across a variety of care settings, including the private sector, Mandy has progressed through the ranks from Carer to Registered Manager, building extensive experience and expertise along the way.

Mandy began her career working night shifts in a nursing home, a role she held for eight years and thoroughly enjoyed. She later moved into a daytime Carer position, where her natural leadership abilities began to shine and she developed a passion for supporting both residents and colleagues.

Mandy joined The Orders of St John Care Trust in 2008 and quickly progressed through a number of roles, including Care Leader and Head of Care, before becoming a Registered Manager in 2014. During this time, she completed a range of health and social care qualifications, including a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to lead high-performing care teams.

Committed to delivering exceptional standards of care, Mandy sets high expectations for her team and encourages continuous learning and professional development. Her supportive leadership style empowers colleagues to grow in confidence, develop new skills and provide outstanding care for residents. Mandy's dedication and leadership were recognised in 2018 and 2022 when she was awarded the Trust's prestigious Leader of the Year Award, as well as receiving a Silver Medal of Merit by the British Association of the Sovereign 

Military Order of Malta (BASMOM) for exceptional services in social care in 2025.
