Meet the team

The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.

OSJCT Menu

Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily, and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake to enjoy.

Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

Meet the team

Home Manager

April Bulman is the Home Manager at Townsend House. She has been with the Trust for over a decade.

April started her career as an Administrator and due to her hard work and passion for care, she progressed to Home Manager level.

April has a level 5 in Health and Social Care.

The reason why April chose to enter the care industry was that she has always wanted to make a difference and has always been a people person.

The most exciting part of April's role is seeing the residents take part in the home activities and them being able to live and enjoy life.

Outside of work, April enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also has a passion for arts and crafts and used to decorate cakes!

Head of Care

Sharon Dumper is the Head of Care at Townsend house. Sharon joined OSJCT in 2011 and has worked in the care industry for 30 years. Sharon initially started as a Carer and worked her way up to Care Leader due to her hard work and compassion for elderly people. Sharon says, “It was the manager at OSJCT who believed in me and give me the confidence to accept the Head of Care role which I love. It means I can still interact with residents whilst supporting the Home Manager.” She also adds, “The most important thing to remember is that the residents are the heart of everything we do.” Sharon has a QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Level 3 in Dementia Award and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training.

Sharon loves her role as she feels she is making a difference to people's lives. It is the simplest of everyday things that give her the greatest pleasures in her role.

Sharon’s hobbies include cross stitching, arts and crafts and making things for the home and her loved ones. Making people smile is also one her favourite hobbies!

Sharon is also a qualified Nail Technician (Level 3) which she makes full use of at work when she occasionally treats the residents to manicures and pedicures.

Administrator

Chris Ruane is the Administrator at Townsend House. Chris joined OJSCT in 2015 and has worked in administration all her life.

Chris has an NVQ Level 3 in Administration, ILM 1 and 2 in Team Work and Management and has an EU Computer Driving Licence.

Chris was introduced to the care industry through a family member who worked for the Trust. Chris loves the diversity of her role as she gets to meet residents, elderly people and their families.

A particularly fond memory of Chris’s with the residents was when she did a memory walk in the gardens of Oxford which she absolutely loved.

Chris’s hobbies include crochet, barbequing, doing jigsaw puzzles and going for long walks. She also loved caravanning with her children when they were younger and growing vegetables with them.
