Food
The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.
Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake for residents, friends and families to enjoy.
Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

In her spare time, Marie looks after her 11 grandchildren, ranging in age from 3 to 23. She has a passion for arts and crafts, particularly crocheting and knitting, which she incorporates into her role with residents.

Lisa joined the Trust in November 2022 and is the Bursar at Westgate House. Kirsty joined the Trust in March 2024 as an Administrator, after working in admin for a construction company for 20 years. Wanting a more people-focused environment, she made a complete career change. Having previously volunteered in youth centres and with adults with learning difficulties, Kirsty knew she wanted a role in care.
Kirsty uses her skills to manage all clerical tasks and enjoys giving show rounds to visitors. She loves the homely feel of Westgate House and finds working with the residents incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, Kirsty enjoys walking her Staffy puppy, Betsy, with her husband. She’s also an avid runner, regularly taking part in half marathons and running three times a week.

As a Care Leader, Jade supports the carers, liaises with residents' families, administers medication, arranges hospital appointments, books transport, and coordinates with the MDT. A resident once joked that her role is like being their "personal PA," which gave her a chuckle and a nod of agreement.
