2024 Trust Recognition Awards launched
Nominations are now open for The Trust Recognition Awards. Awarded annually to Trust employees and volunteers, the awards are a recognition of the ongoing dedication to improving the lives of those within our homes. All employees, residents, relatives, friends and members of the community are invited to submit nominations.
There are eight categories of Awards. Shortlisted nominees will be invited to Award ceremonies where winners will be announced.
- Exceptional Dedication to Caring Award
Winners of this award will have gone above and beyond their responsibilities to improve care-giving standards and resident quality of life either directly or indirectly.
- Outstanding Community Engagement Award
Based on the Trust's core value of promoting communities, this award is for anyone who has significantly improved or built relationships between the home and community groups. This could include relationships with local schools, businesses, community groups or charities.
- The Empowerment Award
This award is related to the Trust's 'empowering individuals' value. This award is for colleagues and volunteers in homes or ECH schemes who have developed a process or way to empower residents or have provided a platform for residents to maintain independence. Within the context of office colleagues, this could be either empowering homes and ECH colleagues or empowering colleagues within their team or other departments of the Trust.
- Unsung Hero of the year
Unsung heroes are those who support others to do their jobs well, making an outstanding contribution to the work of their teams and to the people they support. This Award is specifically for those who are not in leadership or managerial roles but constantly motivate others, lift morale and frequently go out of their way to make sure a job is done, or a colleague is supported. Nominees may be unaware of the valuable contribution they make and how others consider them as a vital member of the team, often working quietly, inconspicuously or behind the scenes.
- The Inspirational Leader Award
This award is for Home Managers, ECH Managers and office-based members of the Senior Leadership Team. It provides colleagues the opportunity to recognise managers who have gone above and beyond to support their teams.
- Making a Difference Volunteering Award
This Award is an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding contributions of those who donate their time, skills and experience to OSJCT. We value the support of every single OSJCT volunteer, and the Making a Difference Volunteering Award allows us to give special recognition to those volunteers that have gone above and beyond in their role over the last 12 months, to make a positive impact to the lives of those living with us.
- The John Monckton Memorial Award
This year the subject for the 2024 John Monckton Memorial Award is:
The best dining experience. Creative ideas to bring residents and families together through food and nutrition.
- The Ferrers Innovation Award
We would like to encourage all colleagues to share ideas, thoughts, and innovations, to improve the quality of life or the environment for all those living and working in the Trust. If you come up with an idea that directly or indirectly improves the quality of life for those living and working within the Trust, you could be eligible to win the Ferrers Innovation Award.
"This award is not intended for the 'big cheeses' but rather for those of you in the thick of it on a daily basis." Earl Ferrers, Trust Patron
To nominate an individual or team ahead of the trust ceremonies, please reach out to your local home before the closing date – 2 August 2024.
Kelly Haddow, HR Business Partner - Reward, said: “For over 20 years, we have been holding Award ceremonies to celebrate and say thank you to our colleagues and volunteers for their outstanding efforts to provide exceptional care and dedication to our residents and clients. Our colleagues regularly go above and beyond to provide compassionate care and make a difference to our clients and residents lives, so it is important that we recognise these successes. Please take the time to nominate someone for one of our prestigious awards."
