Services offered: Dementia Care Respite Care Residential Care Day Care
Located on the outskirts of the Historic town of Thornbury, Grace Care Centre was opened in 2018 offering compassionate and personalized 24-hour specialist dementia and residential care in a warm, comfortable, safe modern environment. This specialist environment has been designed to enhance the quality of life of people living with dementia.
In addition to the first class care we provide, it is our wealth of facilities and activities that really stand out. The purpose-built home environment has been specifically designed to support the needs of older people and those with dementia, from aiding memory in day-to-day living and reminiscence therapy, to reinforcing personal identity and navigating the home.
The home has a warm, comfortable environment with carefully chosen artwork, soft furnishings and themed households that have been selected to be of an era likely to be familiar to our residents or are of meaningful subjects such as music, nature, movies or crafts.
About the Home
This enjoyable home offers five households boasting several en-suite rooms finished to a high standard. Every household has its own comfortable beautifully furnished lounge and kitchen dining area, with easy access to assisted bathrooms and cosy bright sitting rooms.
Individual rooms are tastefully decorated with luxury fittings and furnishings. All rooms also have en-suite facilities, remote controlled colour television and a state of the art nurse call system. A welcoming safe personal haven for each resident to make their own.
Grace Care Centre offers a lovely link to nature within its secure garden which welcomes warm sunshine each afternoon for residents to enjoy a nice cup of tea. We pride ourselves on maintaining the garden to a high standard; the centre of the garden finds two well looked after raised beds where residents get involved and plant out the tubs and planters producing a splendid array of colour and blooms for everyone to enjoy. Along the garden you will find several wooden benches so that residents are able to sit and talk to each other in the warmer months with wide flat pathways allowing easy access throughout.
A friendly, professionally trained team
Our friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around-the-clock to support our residents, ensuring they spend their day how they wish, enabling them to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.
The attentive care team focus on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person. Their aim is to improve the quality of life for our residents by creating lovely, comfortable, homely surroundings, and by providing care, activities and other services around each resident’s needs and wishes.
Food and Nutrition
Our talented chef and kitchen team pride themselves on delivering tasty, home-cooked fresh meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
All day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks, and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences. Catering for individual dietary requirements and preferences and using seasonal produce whenever possible, they are careful to ensure best nutritional value too, so residents can be sure of enjoying tasty, well balanced dishes every day.
Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible, and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily, and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake to enjoy in our café.
Each of the households has their own small kitchen dining room where residents can take their meals if they wish. Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.
Residents can enjoy social activities every day in the central communal areas including a barbers and hairdressing salon, home cinema room, and the outdoor balconies.
