Grace Care Centre in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, opened in February 2018. Grace Care Centre offers compassionate and personalized 24-hour specialist dementia and residential care in a comfortable, modern environment. The specialist environment has been designed to enhance the quality of life of people living with dementia.
About the Home
The new 70 bed dementia and residential care centre is split over three floors and incorporates a number of features to promote reminiscence as therapy.
This modern home has been designed with your comfort and wellbeing in mind. To give you the support when you need it, a friendly, professionally trained team is on hand around the clock to support you, so that you can continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.
The home is arranged in five "household" units, each unit having their own comfortable living environment, each with their own sitting room, kitchen and dining area.
The large single bedrooms all have en suite shower and toilet facilities, although assisted bathrooms are also provided in each household. All rooms have access to digital TV, WiFi as well as a 24-hour nurse call facility. Additional features of the home include ‘The In - House café’, craft room, cinema and hair and beauty salon.
The external area provides a safe and secure garden with access from each of the ground floor households as well as communal gardens accessible from the cafe area and living rooms.

Food and Nutrition
Our professional chef and kitchen team pride themselves on offering a delicious and varied selection of home-cooked meals. Catering for individual dietary requirements and preferences and using seasonal produce whenever possible, they are careful to ensure best nutritional value too, so you can be sure of enjoying tasty, well balanced dishes every day.
On top of this you will always find a freshly-baked cake in the coffee shop along with fabulous afternoon teas. Fresh fruit is also always available in fruit baskets throughout the home.
The dedicated Activities Co-ordinators are there to make life as stimulating and varied as possible, they work with the residents to shape the schedules of activities by holding regular meetings and questionnaires with the residents, examples of our current activities include: The team ensure that activities cater for a wide range of interest and abilities from more active and adventurous persons to more relaxed and leisurely approach.

The team has demonstrated an outstanding on-going achievement in providing high quality, compassionate, personalised care, to support people to live well with dementia within the care environment and that there is an on-going commitment from all team members to uphold excellence in dementia care. This accreditation is endorsed by Dementia UK.
