Care you can feel confident in

My dad receives excellent care. The staff are lovely and treat him with dignity and patience even at times when things are difficult. They look to ensure that all the residents have the best quality of life possible whilst living with Alzheimer's. It is like a home from home in the Paternoster family and we are always welcome when we visit Dad.

Daughter of Resident, Paternoster House

Whether it’s wet or dry outside, we at OSJCT feel that activities are essential in providing the best caring environment to live in.

Hobbies don’t simply stop when living with us at Paternoster House. We have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who works closely with our residents to create a programme of fulfilling activities and events, tailored around each resident’s requests, hobbies and interests. The programme of events and activities provide a source of fun and laughter, to help each resident live their life to the full and make new friendships.

We are also fortunate to have the support of many volunteers of all ages from the local community, strengthening our links to this thriving town. Here is a sample of activities on offer:

  • Trips to garden centres, cafés, pubs, sporting events, National Trust parks, wildlife parks, aquariums and museums.
  • Visit from Pets as Therapy Dogs
  • Exercise and wellness activities, for example Seated Yoga, Zumba
  • Board game competitions and quizzes
  • Music therapy sessions
  • Gardening
  • Arts and crafts
  • Communal Church services

With so many well-being activities for body and mind on offer, we also recognise that everyone needs some personal space for relaxation and mindfulness for personal reflection. The cosy lounges offer an opportunity for some quiet time or to host family and friends.

The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.

Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake for residents, friends and family to enjoy.

Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

Lindsey Worthy

Home Manager

Lindsey is the Home Manager at Paternoster House, having taken on the role permanently in March 2025. She joined the Trust in August 2020 after relocating from Devon, where she previously ran her own catering business for 10 years.

Lindsey began her OSJCT journey as a Bursar before moving to the eCare team as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting homes across divisions with the rollout of digital care planning. In 2024, she transitioned into the Trainee Home Manager role within the Oxford division, where she achieved her Level 5 qualification in Operations Management. During this time, she also supported the reopening of the day centre at Lake House in Adderbury, which had been closed since the pandemic. Lindsey is currently working towards her Level 7 Senior Leader qualification.

Lindsey finds the most rewarding part of her role is helping residents maintain their independence. She is proud to be part of a team at Paternoster that truly feels like family.

In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys travelling, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Activities Co-ordinator

Sharon has worked as the Activities Co-ordinator at Paternoster House since 2013 but has worked in the care industry for over 18 years.

Sharon has completed a level 3 qualification in dementia care and has completed her care certificate too. Sharon likes that every day at work is different, one day she could be organising a party, trips out or organising outdoor games the next she could be organising dementia friendly cinemas, entertainers or just arranging a varied programme of activities that are tailored to meet the residents’ interests and preferences.

Sharon’s fondest memory is when Paternoster House had two residents who turned 100, all the staff dressed in vintage clothes from a variety of era’s, and everyone enjoyed a brilliant party.

Outside of work Sharon loves taking her two terriers for a walk and socialising with friends and family.
