Delicious, Home Cooked Meals The talented cook and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.

Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily, and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake to enjoy.

Each of the households has their own small kitchen dining room where residents can take their meals if they wish. Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

Home Manager

Debbie started her career with the Orders of St Johns Care Trust in 2005 where she was employed as a kitchen assistant after leaving school. Since that time, Debbie has undertaken a variety of roles at Marden Court including being a carer, night care leader, and Head of Care and has recently progressed to Home Manager at Seymour House. Debbie qualified in levels 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care many years ago and is currently working towards completing her level 5.

Debbie wishes to learn all that she can within her role so that she can empower and support her colleagues to provide the best care for the residents who live at Seymour House.
Debbie believes that all residents should live a happy, safe, and fulfilling life and be supported to undertake tasks and activities that interest them.

Debbie says “I can not imagine doing anything else. Being at Seymour House is like having an extended family and it is exciting that every day is different. It is a beautiful thing to be the reason for people to smile and know that we all make a difference in our resident’s lives”

In her spare time, Debbie likes to spend time with her family and likes travel.

Care Leader

Luan Mitchell has worked in the care sector for 8 years since April 2013. Starting her career as a Housekeeper, then becoming a Carer.

From this position, Luan developed a real passion for elderly care and making a difference to those she cared for. Luan then progressed to become a Care Leader at Athelstan House. Gaining specific qualifications and training in residential and dementia care, she had a desire to progress further within the Trust.

Luan has now started in a new role as the Head of Care at Seymour House. Luan loves her new role and works with a very passionate and committed team. Luan is dedicated to ensuring the residents we care for receive the highest standard of care. In her role, Luan supports and supervises the care team to promote a person-centred approach and ensure residents wishes are respected. When not working, Luan enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as going on walks.

Activities Co-ordinator

Hayley joined the Trust in 2001 after previously working at Seymour House for Wilts Council. Hayley worked as a night carer for many years whilst her children were young and then switched to become an Activities Co-Ordinator around six years ago.

Hayley loves her job and also enjoys helping out with care shifts when she is needed.
