A LITTLE ABOUT MELKSHAM GARDENS
Our new purpose-built home on Longleaze Lane will provide residential, nursing and dementia care, alongside respite and day care.
The home will feature 80 en-suite bedrooms, landscaped gardens, private dining, a cinema, gym and wellbeing facilities, activities room, salon and spa, and family accommodation. Innovative technology, including circadian lighting and acoustic monitoring, will support our person-centred approach to care.
Designed around residents’ comfort, wellbeing and independence, Melksham Gardens will provide a welcoming environment for residents, their families and colleagues.
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
Joining a brand-new home is exciting – but it is also different.
Depending on the progress of the home, you may join us during the preparation and mobilisation period or as we welcome our first residents. Your exact start date may therefore be subject to change and could be later than initially anticipated.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and excited to help shape a home from the very beginning. As Administration Assistant, you’ll play an important role in helping the home run smoothly, establishing effective administrative processes and creating a warm and professional first impression for everyone who visits.
You’ll have the opportunity to help establish Melksham Gardens within the local community, support the team as the home prepares to open and contribute to creating a welcoming environment where residents, families and colleagues feel at home.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Administration Assistant, you’ll support the Home Manager with a full range of reception, administrative and basic finance activities to help ensure the home runs smoothly.
Often the first point of contact for enquiries, you’ll demonstrate a professional, friendly and welcoming manner to everyone who visits, lives and works in the home. You’ll help create a positive first impression while providing essential administrative support to the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include managing enquiries, keeping records and reports up to date, handling basic financial tasks and supporting the day-to-day administration of the home. You’ll also help ensure that visitors follow the infection control procedures in place, coordinate any required testing arrangements and organise couriers and associated administrative tasks as needed.
Our homes are fun, too, so you’ll also support the planning and organisation of events and activities, from celebrating residents’ milestone birthdays to fetes, colleague presentations and other special occasions.
As part of a brand-new home, you’ll help establish administrative routines, support the team as the home prepares to welcome its first residents and contribute to creating a positive and organised working environment.
You’ll work alongside colleagues who are passionate about providing a safe environment, as well as warmth and kindness to everyone who lives and works in our homes.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll have previous experience in an administrative or reception role and feel confident using Microsoft Office. You’ll also have experience handling cash and keeping reports and records up to date. Ideally, you’ll have Maths and English qualifications to GCSE level.
Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable working in an elderly care setting and able to relate to residents in a caring, sensitive and respectful manner.
This is a busy and varied role, so you’ll need to be efficient, organised and confident using your initiative to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to build positive relationships with residents, families, visitors and colleagues alike.
You’ll also be adaptable, proactive and enthusiastic about the opportunity to join a new home. If you enjoy helping others, take pride in your work and want to play an important part in creating something special, we’d love to hear from you.
AND IN RETURN
The Trust is a great place to work. We’ve been providing care for almost 1,000 years and we’re currently the second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. Not-for-profit means that we reinvest every penny we make into our residents, colleagues and the care homes we live and work in.
We’re committed to supporting our colleagues to grow and develop, offering opportunities for training and development within a nurturing, engaging and rewarding environment.
Here are some of the benefits you’ll enjoy as a valued member of our team:
- 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- Higher rates of pay at weekends
- A workplace pension
- Free DBS
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
- Refer a Friend scheme, rewarding you up to £1,000 for every recommendation who successfully starts working for us
- Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” programme, offering discounts on shopping, days out, restaurants and much more
BE PART OF THE BEGINNING
If you’re an organised and approachable administrator who enjoys supporting others and wants to help create something special, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and help us make Melksham Gardens a truly exceptional place to live, work and belong, playing an important role in creating a welcoming home for residents, families and colleagues from day one.
We reserve the right to close this role before the closing date, with no advance notice. We do encourage you to complete an application as soon as possible if interested.
