ABOUT OUR ROLE
Our Housekeepers play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in our homes, ensuring every room and living space is clean, tidy and welcoming. You’ll be a champion for hygiene and infection control, with access to specialised equipment and materials to help create a safe and comfortable environment for residents, their friends and families.
Some residents love to get involved with simple cleaning and laundry tasks, so you may sometimes find you have a little extra help with your daily routines!
You’ll work alongside a team who are passionate about providing a safe environment, as well as warmth and kindness to everyone who lives and works in our homes.
ABOUT MELKSHAM GARDENS
Melksham Gardens is a brand-new, purpose-built 80-bed care home on Longleaze Lane, due to open in 2027. The home will provide residential, dementia and nursing care, alongside respite and day care services.
Designed around residents’ comfort, wellbeing and independence, the home will offer luxury en-suite bedrooms, including suites for couples, alongside private dining spaces, a cinema, gym, activities room, hair salon, wellness spa and dedicated family suite.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the beginning of the home’s journey. Depending on the progress of the home, you may join us during the preparation and mobilisation period or as we welcome our first residents. Your exact start date may therefore be subject to change and could be later than initially anticipated.
The early stages will be different to working in an established care home as the team comes together and the home prepares to welcome its first residents. You’ll play an important part in helping establish the high standards and welcoming environment that Melksham Gardens will be known for.
ABOUT YOU
You don’t need previous housekeeping experience to join us – we’ll provide all the training you need to get started.
What’s most important is that you take pride in your work, communicate well, enjoy working as part of a team and are keen to learn. You’ll be comfortable working in an elderly care setting and able to relate to our residents in a caring and sensitive manner.
We’re looking for people who are positive, adaptable and excited about being part of something new. If you want to help create a clean, welcoming and homely environment for our residents from the very beginning, we’d love to hear from you.
AND IN RETURN
The Trust is a great place to work; we’ve been providing care for almost 1,000 years and we’re currently the second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. As a not-for-profit organisation, we reinvest every penny we make into our residents, colleagues and care homes.
We offer a great range of benefits, including:
- 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
- Higher rates of pay at weekends
- Workplace pension
- Free uniform
- Free DBS
- Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
- Refer a Friend scheme, rewarding you up to £1,000 for every recommendation who successfully starts working for us
- Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” programme, offering discounts on shopping, days out, restaurants and much more
If you’re excited about the opportunity to be part of a brand-new care home and want to help make Melksham Gardens a truly exceptional place to live, work and belong, apply today.
We reserve the right to close this role before the closing date, with no advance notice. We do encourage you to complete an application as soon as possible if interested.
