A LITTLE ABOUT MELKSHAM GARDENS
Our new purpose-built home on Longleaze Lane will provide residential, nursing and dementia care, alongside respite and day care.
The home will feature 80 en-suite bedrooms, landscaped gardens, private dining, a cinema, gym and wellbeing facilities, activities room, salon and spa, and family accommodation. Innovative technology, including circadian lighting and acoustic monitoring, will support our person-centred approach to care.
Designed around residents’ comfort, wellbeing and independence, Melksham Gardens will provide a welcoming environment where residents can feel safe, supported and at home.
A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
Joining a brand-new home is exciting – but it is also different.
Depending on the progress of the home, you may join us during the preparation and mobilisation period or as we welcome our first residents. Your exact start date may therefore be subject to change and could be later than initially anticipated.
We’re looking for experienced carers who are comfortable with change and excited to help shape a home from the very beginning. Your knowledge, skills and experience will be invaluable as the team comes together and establishes the standards, routines and culture of Melksham Gardens.
As part of our night team, you’ll play an important role in ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the night, helping establish a positive environment from the moment the home opens.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Night Care Assistant, you’ll make a real difference to our residents’ lives every day.
Alongside supporting daily routines and personal care, including washing, bathing and supporting residents with their toileting needs, you’ll get to know each resident as an individual and help them enjoy a happy, fulfilling life.
During the night, you’ll help ensure residents feel safe, comfortable and reassured, responding to their individual needs with kindness, patience and compassion. You’ll respect their dignity and choices while providing the support they need to rest peacefully and feel at home.
Some days may be challenging, particularly as we establish a new home, but there will also be plenty of opportunities to build meaningful relationships and make lasting memories.
We’re looking for great communicators who can build positive relationships and share our commitment to person-centred care, dignity and choice. You’ll become part of our extended family, working alongside colleagues who are passionate about creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll have previous experience working in a care setting and a genuine passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care. You’ll understand the importance of treating residents with dignity and respect, supporting their individual needs and helping them maintain their independence wherever possible.
You’ll be a confident communicator who can build positive relationships with residents, their families and colleagues. You’ll also be comfortable working night shifts, able to respond calmly to residents’ needs and committed to creating a safe, reassuring environment throughout the night.
Most importantly, you’ll be adaptable, compassionate and enthusiastic about the opportunity to help establish a new care home. You’ll take pride in your work and be excited to use your experience to help shape a team and create a home where residents feel safe, valued and supported.
AND IN RETURN
We’re currently the second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK, meaning we reinvest every penny we make into our homes, residents’ lives and team members.
We offer a great range of benefits:
- 28 days holiday, increasing with length of service (pro rata for part time)
- Higher weekend pay
- Workplace pension
- Free uniform
- Free DBS
- Free car parking
