Spencer Court recently invited green-fingered friends, families and members of the local community to their annual Garden Spruce Up Lunch.
Willing volunteers who enjoy a spot of gardening and had a couple of hours to spare joined the home in clearing any pesky weeds and pruning shrubs to get the garden looking spick and span ready for the sunny weather. The gardeners were then rewarded with a well-earned, delicious home-cooked lunch.
Spencer Court’s garden is a beautiful space with deep flower beds bordering a walkway that winds across the lawns, leading to a peaceful gazebo with comfortable seating. The cold winter months when the garden is used less had an effect on the plants, so the annual spring Spruce Up was well-timed and got the garden looking back to its best for the warmer seasons.
In addition to some weeding and pruning, the gardeners also planted up some pots with some wonderful spring colours. The weather on the day was glorious, and the sunshine made the finished result look all the nicer.
After their hard work the team enjoyed a tasty lunch of different quiches with a variety of salads which was all freshly prepared by Spencer Court’s talented chef.
Spencer Court’s residents are now ready to enjoy some long sunny days in the garden if the weather allows. If you or a family member would like to have a look round Spencer Court to meet the team and see the home’s facilities, please contact the home on 01993 812725.
