Wiltshire Care Home Residents Experience The Glitz and Glamour of Las Vegas at Annual Tea Dance
Just over a 100 residents and staff from 12 homes across the county attended our annual Residents Tea Dance. This year the theme was Las Vegas and was held on Tuesday 16 June at The Assembly Hall in Melksham.
This year’s event offered residents a chance to experience the glitz and glamour of America’s ‘Sin City’ with live music from an Elvis tribute act and other musical treats, as well as casino roulette tables, a pop-up photo booth, an American style buffet tea and a bar. It would have been hard to replicate our 1970s and Hawian themed tea dances of previous years, so this year we’ve taken inspiration from one of the most enchanting and entertaining cities in the world.
Our annual themed tea dance is an opportunity for our residents to spend quality time with each other, while meeting new people from OSJCT care homes from throughout the county. The activities’ co-ordinators from our homes are always thinking of new ways for residents to have fun, to socialise, to experience music and the arts, and to remain active – so this is just another fantastic way of keeping people entertained and happy.
Special guests included Melksham Town Mayor Councillor Terri Welch and OSJCT Deputy Chairman and Trustee Brian Goodson.
