Windsor Street Care Centre celebrates Care Home Open Day!

On Saturday 21st April residents, families and friends gathered at Windsor Street Care Centre to celebrate Care Home Open Day, the Queen’s 92nd birthday, and National Tea Day.  A Vintage Tea Party was held in the garden, which looked colourful with bunting, new spring hanging baskets and vintage china.

Our marvellous chefs provided a delicious cream tea with sandwiches, cakes and scones which were appreciated by all.  The centre piece of the day was an amazing Queen’s crown cake in purple and gold, made by our chef Michael Knight.  It took days to make and looked far too impressive to eat – but that’s exactly what we did!  And those who couldn’t fit it in after all the sandwiches and scones, took a slice home to enjoy later.

The threat of rain did not ruin the day as we managed to huddle under the canopy and balconies, and after a quick shower the sun came out and everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful garden, and the sun.
