The talented chef and kitchen team meticulously prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site. Each plate is sprinkled with a little extra love to ensure that residents feel each meal is a treat, not just for sustenance, but enjoyment. The meals produced at Watersmead are renowned throughout the trust and are often used as a benchmark for fellow OSJCT homes within the local area, due to the sparkling reputation of the kitchen team. Mealtimes are protected by the team who will all down tools to get involved in service - administration, management, housekeeping and volunteer teams included, further emphasising the family feel. Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible, and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join the home for a meal with loved ones.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy a social dining experience with the team and fellow occupants of the home but are afforded the freedom to eat wherever they wish within the home, maximising choice and supporting individuality.
Residents can enjoy social activities within the home every day. An accessible minibus is often hired for trips to local places of interest, supported by the team. Community events and clubs, which welcome people from the local area take place regularly, enabling residents to meet new people and remain connected to the world outside of the home.
