Located in the heart of Salisbury, Bemerton Lodge offers compassionate individualised respite, residential and dementia care for up to 55 residents in relaxing, friendly and comfortable environment. Within the home, there are two households

- Residential Care
- Respite Care
The home has been designed to enhance the quality of life of our residents and incorporates several features to promote reminiscence as therapy and with your wellbeing and comfort in mind. Cosy lounges are available to relax in, a lovely garden to be taken advantage of on sunny days and there are daily social activities for your enjoyment.

Set in its own attractive and mature gardens Bemerton Lodge offers a warm and homely atmosphere. The home also has a tea room, lounge and bar which offer opportunities to entertain friends and socialise, as well as join in with the activities organised by our Activities Co-ordinators.
The rooms at Bemerton Lodge are a personal haven for each of the residents. Each room offers a private bed-sitting room, an emergency 24 hour call system, personalised care and plenty of space to personalise your room.

About the team
Our friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around the clock to support our residents, ensuring they spend their day how they wish and enabling them to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.
The attentive care team focus on the individual needs of the residents, with a tailored care plan for each person. Their aim is to improve the quality of life for our residents by creating lovely, comfortable, homely surroundings and by providing care, activities and other services designed around each resident’s needs and wishes.

Food
A talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home cooked meals. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences. Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join.
The menus change daily, and the kettle is always on, so hot drinks are available throughout the day.
Activities
Hobbies don’t simply stop when living with us. Each home has a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who works closely with our residents to create a programme of fulfilling activities and events, tailored around each resident’s requests, hobbies and interests. The programme of events and activities provide a source of fun and laughter, to help each resident live their life to the full and make new friendships.
A daily activity schedule for a home may include:
- Trips to garden centres, cafés, pubs, sporting events, National Trust parks, wildlife parks, aquariums and museums.
- Performances from entertainers
- Coffee mornings
- Art and Craft clubs
- Quiz Nights
- Exercise classes such as Zumba and Thai chi.
- Ice skating
- Opera and theatre visits
- Visits from local petting farms, reptile houses and PAT dogs.
- Local school visits
- Wine and cheese tastings

And that’s not all:
We’ve had silent discos, hoe downs, Chinese banquets, Oscar parties and so much more. Many of the activities feature Reminiscence Therapy to aid those living with Dementia to remember events, people and places using sight, touch, taste, smell and sound.
Each resident receives one-to-one time with the Activities Co-ordinators and together they will work on their own personal activity plan and goals.

Bemerton Lodge is located within a vibrant community, and there's never a dull moment. We run regular activities for all to join in:

Pricing
Care fees vary depending on the level of care required and this will be confirmed upon completion of a care assessment prior to moving into the home.

Our home charges self-funder rates for the services we provide. We accept third party top ups for individuals funded by the Local Authority up to the self-funder rate.

Meet the team
Our homes' professional services are provided by the Management team, Carers, Nurses and Dementia support teams (where required), Admiral Nurses, Support Workers, Activities Co-ordinators, Housekeeping, Handy Person, Administrators and the home's Chef and Catering team. We also have health professional support from Doctors, Nurses and personal services who will regularly come into the home.

Home Manager
Rebecca joined the trust in November 2019 and has worked in the care sector for over 20 years. Rebecca decided to work in care at school when she helped a playschemes for children with learning disabilities. She really enjoyed that experience and after college started working full time with adults. Rebecca has worked in various organisations n=in numerous roles working her way up to management. Rebecca also worked for a long time at a Learning and Development manager teaching staff how to safely work with people in care.
In Rebecca’s spare time she runs dog training classes and like to spend time with her own dogs and her family.
Administration Assistant
Laurie joined OSCJT at the beginning of 2021 after 20 years in the hospitality industry. Having been front of house in hotels and dealing with lots of people at events, she’s settled in very well to life at Bemerton Lodge. Laurie is probably the first person you’ll speak to at Bemerton Lodge, and interacting with the residents and their families is her favourite part of the job. Out of work, you’ll find Laurie spending time with her friends and family, walking in the New Forest, or reading a good book.
Activities Co-ordinator
Caroline has been at Bemerton Lodge since 2019 and has worked as an Activities Co-ordinator for 13 years. Prior to that, she spent many years in nursing. Caroline loves the fun she and the residents have together with a broad range of activities from board games and crafting to gardening and baking. Making music is her favourite weekly activity, and out of work Caroline has been playing the guitar too. She has started to learn Spanish, and also enjoys gardening and walking her Basset Hound.
