A warm welcome to our home
Located in the delightful village of Charlton Kings, on the eastern edge of Cheltenham lies Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care Centre. Built in attractive Cotswold stone, the home offers compassionate and personalised nursing, residential, respite and intermediate care to 50 residents in Grevill House and 15 residents at Ashley Intermediate Care Centre.

The homes cosy lounge gives more privacy for socialising with friends and family or watching TV. Our lovely landscaped gardens are there to enjoy throughout the year. Residents’ can enjoy the daily social activities going on in the central communal areas with the hairdressing salon open during the week.
Adjacent to Grevill House is the Ashley Intermediate Care Centre. This unit, commissioned by the local Clinical Commissioning Group, offers intensive support and care to people who require rehabilitation following a hospital stay, before they return home. Those receiving care will benefit firm:
- Provides physiotherapy and occupational therapy assessments.
- Experienced OSJCT staff assist with personal care needs.
- Multi-disciplinary approach enables continuity of treatment after transfer from hospital.
- Enables joint benefits of a hospital stay and recuperation experienced in a homely setting.

About the team
Our friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around the clock to support our residents, ensuring they spend their day how they wish and enabling them to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.
The attentive care team focus on the individual needs of the residents, with a tailored care plan for each person. Their aim is to improve the quality of life for our residents by creating lovely, comfortable, homely surroundings and by providing care, activities and other services designed around each resident’s needs and wishes.

Food
The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.
Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake for residents, families and friends to enjoy.
Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.
Activities
Whether it’s wet or dry outside, we at OSJCT feel that activities are essential in providing the best caring environment to live in.
Hobbies don’t simply stop when living with us at Grevill House. We have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator who works closely with our residents to create a programme of fulfilling activities and events, tailored around each resident’s requests, hobbies and interests. The programme of events and activities provide a source of fun and laughter, to help each resident live their life to the full and make new friendships.
We are also fortunate to have the support of many volunteers of all ages from the local community, strengthening our links to this thriving market town. Here is a sample of activities on offer:
- Trips to garden centres, cafés, pubs, sporting events, National Trust parks, wildlife parks, aquariums and museums.
- Visit from Pets as Therapy Dogs
- Exercise and wellness activities, for example Seated Yoga, Zumba

Pricing
Care fees vary depending on the level of care required and this will be confirmed upon completion of a care assessment prior to moving into the home.

Our home charges self-funder rates for the services we provide. We accept third party top ups for individuals funded by the Local Authority up to the self-funder rate.

Meet the team
Our homes' professional services are provided by the Management team, Carers, Nurses and Dementia support teams (where required), Admiral Nurses, Support Workers, Activities Co-ordinators, Housekeeping, Handy Person, Administrators and the home's Chef and Catering team. We also have health professional support from Doctors, Nurses and personal services who will regularly come into the home.

Home Manager
Suzi has worked for OSJCT since 2011, she has a wealth of experience including leading the Monkscroft team to achieve CQC Outstanding. In her previous role of Clinical Lead for the Gloucestershire region she was instrumental in securing and setting up and leading on 5 Assessment Units across the region.
As the Home Manager, Suzi is committed to maintaining the highest standards of care, ensuring that each resident feels valued, safe, and comfortable within our community. With a focus on continuous improvement, Suzi actively encourages open communication, actively listening to the concerns and suggestions of residents, families, and staff to enhance our care services further.
Deputy Manager
Katarzyna Glowacka (Kasia) is a dedicated and experienced nurse with a remarkable journey in the healthcare field. Kasia's nursing career began in 1995. In 2015 she began her career with the Orders of St John Care Trust, starting as a nurse at Bohanam House.
In 2020, Kasia's passion for nursing led her to Chestnut Court, where she took on the role of Senior Nurse on the Assessment Unit. In April 2023, she became an invaluable member of the Grevill House team where on September 18, Kasia was appointed as Deputy Manager. As Deputy Manager, Kasia plays a pivotal role in the management of Grevill House, working closely with the Home Manager to ensure that the home operates in accordance with the policies and guidelines laid down by OSJCT. Additionally, she is Lead Person for Infection Control at Grevill.
Outside of her rewarding career, Kasia is a loving mum of two sons and enjoys various hobbies, including traveling, sailing, capturing the beauty of nature through photography, attending live music concerts, and cherishing quality time with her family.
Activities Coordinator
Since volunteering for a local activities group for children in care at 14, Miali always knew that her passion lay with caring for people. She chose Health and Social Care for both her GCSE’S and A Levels at school and continued to go on to work as a HCA and Consultants Assistant for hospitals, clinics and care homes for many years. She took on the role of Activities Coordinator before the pandemic in 2019 at a local care home, she realised her love for combining her passion for care and creativity. Having worked for care homes and a local primary school, Miali gained a lot of experience for coordinating activities and events to benefit the wellbeing of the people she cared for. This ultimately led her joining The Orders of St John as Activities Coordinator for Grevill House in 2023, and she has thoroughly enjoyed making a difference to peoples lives so far.
Outside of work she loves to paint, sing, socialise with friends, spend time with family, explore nature and help her partner raise his 4-year-old son. she is very family orientated and dedicated lots of time caring for her amazing Nanna, who sadly battled Parkinsons Disease, until 2020. She wishes to continue to care for the residents with the dedication she had for her Nanna and hopes to make her proud.
During her childhood, Miali practiced karate for 8 years, competing in local and national competitions, eventually leading to representing England in the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan in 2013 at the age of 16. Martial arts gave her invaluable life skills including discipline and resilience, whilst also providing her with significant friendships and an immense love for travel and culture. This led to Miali travelling solo to New Zealand, Australia and Tasmania at 19.
