Food
The talented chef and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals on site daily from our own kitchens. We source quality produce for our excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. All-day dining is available for lighter meals and snacks and all dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences.
Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join us. The menus change daily and the kettle is always on. Our chef bakes every day so there is always a fresh cake to for residents, friends and families to enjoy.
Residents are also encouraged to help prepare their own food and to make snacks whenever they choose.

Having managed various types of residential and support services, Rachel has developed skills over the years enabling her to effectively manage and support the busy team at Meadowcroft. She is passionate about providing high quality care and works with residents, their families and the team to ensure care is tailored to the individual and maximises opportunities for independence.
Being fully immersed in the day-to-day running of the home, Rachel’s busy schedule can be different every day. She enjoys the diversity of the role and values moments with residents.
In her spare time Rachel can be found tending to her garden, doing DIY, enjoying football and reading.
Bursar
Jacky’s role as Bursar at Meadowcroft means that she is often at the centre of activity within the home.
Jacky is an expert in managing a busy workload and, among her many responsibilities, she supervises ancillary staff, arranges training, is responsible for ordering for the home in-line with budgets and ensures the smooth-running of day-to-day activities such as gardening, residents’ shopping and mealtimes.
Jacky joined The Orders of St John Care Trust in 2018 and enjoys learning something new each day. She finds her role rewarding because of the difference she knows it makes to the lives of Meadowcroft residents.
Jacky likes to spend her spare time walking her dogs, socialising with family and friends and is partial to a bit of retail therapy.
Admin Assistant
Jess is Meadowcroft’s Admin Assistant and will be the first to offer a very warm welcome to all visitors. She joined Meadowcroft in 2014 with a background in business administration and holds a level 2 NVQ in this subject. Moving into the care sector was a change from her previous roles and she says she wouldn’t change it for the world.
Jess enjoys the varied and busy nature of her role, whether she is organising staff rotas, reviewing residents’ financial accounts or meeting a new resident and their family.
Dedicated to entertaining the residents, Jess has been known to don fancy dress at seasonal times of the year and has previously been involved with raising hundreds of pounds for charity by organising a cupcake sale at the home.
Jess enjoys spending time socialising with friends and family when she is not at work.
Care Leader
Scott holds an NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Dementia and a level 2 in Leadership and has worked for The Orders of St John Care Trust since 2011. He is now one of Meadowcroft’s Care Leaders.
As a Care Leader, Scott is responsible for ensuring care is at the heart of everything that happens at Meadowcroft and he helps to promote the independence and dignity of the people who live there by positively enhancing their lives. Scott enjoys that his daily routine can be varied and that it depends largely on the needs of people he is looking after. Key tasks Scott undertakes each day may include helping people to wash and dress, eat and drink, and go about their daily activities.
Scott has always been interested in a career in care. He enjoys getting to know all about the residents’ lives, their likes and dislikes, what makes a difference to them and what helps to put a smile on their face. This passion and drive was recognised on two different occasions when Scott was awarded ‘Young Carer of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ at OSJCT’s Oxfordshire Employee Awards.
In Scott’s spare time he enjoys listening to music, playing games and socialising.
Head Housekeeper
Helen has several years’ experience working in the care sector and has been Head Housekeeper at Meadowcroft since 2011.
Helen is a naturally tidy and organised person with NVQs in Hospitality and Supervision which helps in her role to ensure the residents’ rooms, bathrooms and the entire home is kept beautifully hygienic and spick and span. She organises her team’s daily activity with a structured approach to ensure every part of this large home is maintained properly and to allow for areas of priority throughout the day.
Helen is proud to maintain high standards throughout the home and enjoys getting to know residents and their families. She is particularly proud of a raffle she helped organise at the home which raised over £200 for the RAF.
When she is not at work Helen fits in long walks around volunteering on a heritage railway and helping to run a youth group.
